BPP Law School have revealed a range of ‘legal horror stories’ ahead of Halloween.
The horror stories are featured on a site set up by BPP, legalhorrorstories.co.uk. One story, entitled A Tale of Two Law Firms, details how one student worked hard on training contract applications and was rewarded with “a number of first round interviews and assessment centres”. When the “interviews came thick and fast with some taking place on consecutive days”, it’s plain to see what awaits at the end of this horror story.
Having arrived at the firm for an interview and assessment, the aspiring solicitor found that they “had mixed up two interviews and had turned up to the interview a day early. It also meant I was missing another first round interview and only had twenty minutes to get across town.”
Not so bad? Here comes the nightmare…
“Everywhere I turned traffic blocked my path and I managed to get there 45 minutes late. The recruiters did kindly see me but I think the damage had already been done and I didn’t get through to the next round. That’s a mistake I didn’t make again.”
To make sure that no other law student suffers the same fate as these unfortunate souls, BPP have provided a careers advice tip at the end of each story.
