Fancy a trip Down Under as part of your training contract? City Law Firm Herbert Smith Freehills have now extended their secondment network to include their Australian offices.
Herbert Smith merged with Australian law firm Freehills in October 2012, which expanded its offices to 20 worldwide, with over 2,800 lawyers.
Now the firm’s trainees in the London office will have the chance to undertake an international secondment in one of the Australia offices. Australian trainees will also be able to take on secondments in other Herbert Smith Freehills offices.
The Australia managing partner Jason Ricketts said: “Since many of our clients and their projects are global, we need lawyers with an international mindset to deal with the complex elements of cross-border matters.
“The secondments provide lawyers with valuable experience working in an international office, building their internal network and improving firm integration.”
