The brand spanking new building for The University of Law’s (ULaw) flagship campus in Leeds has been revealed.
The modern building chosen as the location for the new campus, which will replace ULaw’s York campus, mimics the sleek, glass-fronted high rise fortresses that adorn the legal district of the City. The University is investing £2.1 million in the project. Due to open in September this year, the centre will be a base for 400 students and 50 members of staff.
Leeds is the biggest legal hub outside of London, currently with around 200 law firms with offices in the city as well as a strong financial firm presence. The new campus is located at 15-16 Park Row right in the heart of Leeds’ legal and business community.
John Latham, Provost and CEO of ULaw, commented: “Leeds has much to offer students, being the third largest metropolitan area in England. Our new location in the heart of the city will provide even more opportunities for aspiring young lawyers and enable law firms across the North East to access high calibre law students and the highest quality legal training for their staff.
“As the UK’s longest-established specialist provider of legal education and training, we are keen to support the continued growth of Leeds’ thriving legal community and contribute to the future economic success of the wider region.”
