Spencers Solicitors, a specialist accident and personal injury solicitors firm, has been acquired by its management team from named Director John Spencer, for whom the company is named.
The transaction has seen the current Managing Director, Robert Landman, acquire the majority stake in the business, whilst Spencer has retained a significant minority stake and has agreed to continue in the role of non-Executive Chairman. Landman was appointed as Managing Director in 2013.
Spencer stated that: “When it is your name above the door, finding the right person to take on your business can be difficult. That is why I am delighted to be handing over the reins to Rob as I know the firm will be in very safe hands.”
“As an ex-President of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers I take great interest in how the industry develops and firms behave. It is heartening to know that under its new leadership Spencers will continue to champion the rights of injured people across the country.”
Landman concluded: “The deal really does represent the best of both worlds. The management team and I can drive forward a number of initiatives to broaden out the advice the firm provides while retaining the input of John, one of the industry’s leading figures.”
“We have worked hard to build a strong brand in the local region so alongside our award winning personal injury practice, we have plans to roll out a range of other legal services aimed at the local business community. It is an exciting time for the firm as we embark on the next chapter in our history.”
Spencers is based in Chesterfield and is one of the leading personal injury claim providers in the UK. They provide specialist advice for injuries across the spectrum, from accidents at work to complex catastrophic injuries. Since the Jackson reforms, which altered the way the market operated, Spencers have been involved in some cutting edge developments within the industry.
