- Featuring:
- 10:00-11:00
- Monday 21st October
- Sherif Saad (Global Disputes Associate) and Elizabeth Geraghty (Second Year Trainee)
The importance of commercial awareness is a familiar refrain for anyone applying for graduate jobs. University careers services, grad recruitment teams and interviewers love to bring it up – but what does it really mean and why is it necessary?
Join Associate Sherif Saad and Trainee Elizabeth Phillips as they unpick the term by considering commercial awareness as a skill and explaining how and why it should be developed by lawyers of all levels.
This event will be particularly useful if you:
• are considering any career in which commercial awareness is important. This can be a legal career but strong commercial awareness can be applied to almost any career path.
• are looking for clarification and advice on what the term commercial awareness really is and how to not only build it, but demonstrate it in any recruitment process.
• are currently in any year of study and degree discipline. It is never too early to start thinking about commercial awareness!
Attending this event will enable you to:
• take away practical tools and resources to continue your commercial awareness journey.
• gain insight from those who studied at your university and have successfully made it through a competitive recruitment process – one in which commercial awareness is vital.
• build blocks to start to develop your commercial awareness. Sometimes knowing where to start is the most difficult part.
