Dates for Law Society Diversity Scheme 2014-15 Announced

The Law Society will run its reopen its Diversity Access Scheme for the 2014-15 academic year. The scheme aims to increase social mobility within the legal profession.
The Diversity Access Scheme has helped over 140 students since it began. It provides financial support to exceptional students who demonstrate great potential for a career as a solicitor to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC). The fees for the mandatory vocational course for the solicitor pathway are currently vary from around £10,000 to £14,000.
Eligible applicants face financial, educational, social or personal challenges that may otherwise make it very difficult to break into a legal career.
Successful applicants to the scheme will also receive additional support in the form of top quality legal work experience opportunities and mentoring.
Applications will open on 10 February 2014. The application form will be available to download from the Junior Lawyers section of the Law Society website from this date.
