A new apprenticeship route to legal careers has been approved by the government.
The government has approved the ‘Trailblazer Apprenticeships in Law’ initiative for apprentices to become legal executives, solicitors or paralegals through workplace-based training.
A committee of law professionals agreed the new set of standards meet the requirements for qualifications as a solicitor or legal executive with the Solicitors Regulation Authority, ILEX Professional Standards Limited and the Law Society.
Skills Minister Nick Boles said: “I’m delighted that the legal trailblazer initiative has developed new apprenticeship standards for solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive and paralegal roles.”
