The AllAboutLaw perspective on BCLP
When Bryan Cave and Berwin Leighton Paisner merged in 2018 to form BCLP, it was one of the biggest transatlantic mergers in history. This merger helped the firm grow into the thriving multinational enterprise that it is today, with over 1,200 lawyers in offices across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The firm even provides advice to household names like Deliveroo, Nike and Goldman Sachs.
The fact that BCLP has offices worldwide has several different advantages for lawyers, as they’re able to work with clients all over the world, gaining an understanding of different legal jurisdictions in the process. There are plenty of opportunities for trainees to work abroad with a client or complete a six-month international secondment, helping to increase the breadth of their legal knowledge.
BCLP focuses on a variety of different practice areas, ranging from Commercial Disputes to Real Estate, so you’ll never get bored of the work on offer. No matter what area you’re in, every lawyer is an expert in their field, with the firm’s Real Estate team ranking highly in Chambers and the Legal 500 for over fifteen years. Adding to BCLP's industry-leading service is their commitment to innovation and technology in the legal field, becoming one of the first major law firms to use artificial intelligence in the delivery of legal advice.
One of BCLP's core values is making a positive contribution to the community and society. With a particular focus on criminal justice, LGBTQ+ issues, and voting rights, employees contribute thousands of hours to hundreds of pro bono matters each year.
