How many applications are received annually?

Over 3,000 applications each year for the training contract and the vacation scheme.

Are there any opportunities for first year students?

Everyone remembers the first day they walked through the doors of their future firm. For many of the firm’s lawyers, that happens on the First Step programme. First Step caters to first-year undergraduates of all degree subjects (and second years of a 4 year course). Whether it's virtual or in person, it’s the opportunity to make a first impression, and use a packed schedule of interactive sessions to discover whether law is right for you.

What are Norton Rose Fulbright looking for in applicants?

The firm looks for intelligent, ambitious, internationally focused and commercially-minded individuals to drive our business. They will expect you to think creatively and find new ways to solve problems. Norton Rose Fulbright expects their trainees to deliver work that meets the highest professional, ethical and business standards for our clients. All applicants must have achieved at least AAB in their A levels or equivalent and be on course to achieve (or to have achieved already) a 2.1 degree or above.

Are there any overseas opportunities available for trainees?

Yes: Athens, Australia (Sydney, Melbourne), Dubai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Milan, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Singapore, Tokyo (subject to change at each rotation depending on business need/resource).

When are the 2024/2025 Vacation Schemes taking place?

All our vacation schemes take place in our London offices.

Winter Vacation scheme:

2 December - 13 December 2024

Summer Vacation Scheme 1:

9 June – 20 June 2025

Summer Vacation Scheme 2:

14 July - 25 July 2025

How much are Vacation Scheme candidates paid?

Candidates are paid £450 per week in London.
