How many trainees do you recruit each year?

We are looking to hire up to 10 trainees.

When do trainees start their Training Contracts?

All our trainees will start in a September intake. We are currently recruiting for trainees to start in 2026 and 2027.

What is the Paul, Weiss Vacation Scheme Promise?

At Paul, Weiss, we want to ensure that everyone is financially able to take part in our vacation schemes. This is why we are making this promise to all vacation scheme students. We will offer the following to everyone who we offer a place to on one of our vacation schemes:

When are your vacation schemes?

We are running two vacation schemes this 2024-2025 academic year.

31 March – 11 April 2025

Deadline: 19 January 2025

23 June – 4 July 2025

Deadline: 19 January 2025

What are your academic requirements?

We ask all candidates to achieve a 2.1 in their undergraduate degrees. We do not have a minimum A-Level requirement.

Do you accept applications from international students?

Yes, absolutely. The only requirement is that you will need to be in London for the vacation scheme.

Do you get paid for taking part in a vacation scheme?

Yes, you will be paid £1,500 (gross) for a two-week vacation scheme.

Do you run any open days?

Yes, we have a number of open days running throughout the year. You can find out further details here .

Do you provide financial support during law school?

Yes, we will provide you with a grant of £20,000 while studying for the SQE and the PGDip.

Do you run direct training contract applications?

No, we will recruit all our trainees via our vacation schemes.

Do you recruit on a rolling basis?

No, we review applications after the deadline.

When is the vacation scheme deadline?

It is 23.59 on Sunday, 19 January 2025.

How do I apply for a training contract?

We recruit all our trainees via our vacation schemes. You should apply for a vacation scheme, and we will assess you for training contract during the vacation scheme.

If I am unsuccessful in my training contract application, can I re-apply?

Yes, we welcome you to apply again, but you will need to wait for the next application cycle.

Can I apply if I have international qualifications?

Yes, this is not uncommon. We are happy to receive applications from people all over the world who have ambitions to practise law in London.

Will I be at a disadvantage if I am a non-law student?

Not at all. We welcome applications from people who have studied all disciplines.

I did not go to a Russell Group University. Will you still consider my application?

Yes. Universities will not feature as part of our entry requirements.
