The AllAboutLaw Perspective on Sackers

If you want to practise at the heart of the UK’s pensions and retirement-savings industry, Sackers is the name to know. From its City base on Gresham Street, the firm brings together pensions, investment, finance and litigation specialists under one roof, delivering a genuinely full-service offering for trustees, employers, providers and corporate investors. Clients include more of the UK’s top 200 pension schemes than any other law firm, with relationships that often span decades.

Market reputation matches that focus: Sackers is consistently top-tier in the legal directories and continues to pick up industry silverware, including “Best Pensions Law Firm” at the Corporate Adviser Awards 2025 and “Pensions Lawyers of the Year” at the UK Pensions Awards 2025. It’s a clear signal that the firm is a go-to adviser on the most complex, high-value matters shaping the sector.

Culturally, Sackers emphasises being specialist without being siloed: collaborative teams, a friendly, down-to-earth feel, and a firmwide commitment to inclusion and wellbeing. You’ll find an environment that prizes diverse perspectives, supports work–life balance and engages actively with the wider pensions community through professional bodies and thought leadership.

What the firm says

Sackers is the UK’s leading law firm for workplace pension schemes, advising trustees, employers, providers and corporate investors. We work exclusively in the pensions and retirement savings industry, and advise on all aspects of defined benefit, defined contribution and hybrid pension arrangements. This requires us to provide advice in areas such as funding and investment, managing liabilities, corporate support, disputes, governance, risk and operations, data protection and tax issues.

We pride ourselves on our friendly, supportive culture and staff across the firm are down to earth and approachable. We are committed to providing a working environment which values Equality, diversity & inclusion and have taken steps to addres s and support underrepresented groups within the legal profession as well as to implement processes and practices to make Sackers a more inclusive place to work.

We are a sociable firm and enjoy spending time together away from our desks. Our social committee “Joy Comm” are responsible for bringing little ‘pockets of joy’ throughout the year with a host of events including family fun-days, cinema and theatre trips, curry nights, leaver and joiner drinks, spa days, coffee baristas at breakfast time and many more!

Our CSR Co mmittee drives initiatives throughout Sackers with a focus on the environment, sustainable development, charitable support and community action. We welcome (and encourage!) involvement from staff across the firm on these initiatives.

We offer agile working and all staff are provided with the necessary IT and workstation equipment to allow them to comfortably work from home.
