Family law: Life, litigation and real-world client work
What is it really like to practise family law? In this session, the BPP team will interview a panel of practising family lawyers to explore the realities of working in this challenging and deeply human area of practice. The discussion will cover the nature of the work, the skills required to succeed and the personal qualities that are particularly important when advising clients through significant life events. Students will gain a clearer understanding of the day-to-day experience of family lawyers and the routes into this rewarding specialism.

How many training contract places are available?
There are 14 available each year.
How many vacation scheme places are available?
There are 10 available in both Liverpool and Manchester each year.
Do you have other opportunities to meet the firm?
Yes, the firm have an insights programme which runs throughout the year. There is no formal application process, anyone is welcome to sign-up.
What are Brabners plans for the SQE?
The firm encourages future trainees to choose their own route to qualification. This means if you want to, and are able to, you can still complete the LPC and funding won’t be affected.
Do you have a preferred provider for study?
Yes, Brabners preferred study provider is Barbri, who offer a range of SQE options.
Do you offer apprenticeships?
Yes, we offer Legal Apprenticeships, applications open 6th October 2025 and close 26th March 2026.
