The AllAboutLaw Perspective
Linklaters is a leading global law firm with a strong reputation. Trainees work on market-leading, pioneering deals across the firm’s leading practices in Corporate, Finance and Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations. There’s even the opportunity to go on an international secondment in areas like Tokyo and Dubai or a client secondment with companies like Credit Suisse and Citibank.
As a trainee at Linklaters, you’ll be right in the heart of the action. While many assume they’ll be a cog in the wheel, one trainee has had ‘lots of responsibility from the start’, and her ‘contributions are very important’. Instead of completing mundane administrative tasks, you’ll spend your time meeting with associates and partners, drafting critical documents and even running smaller transactions.
Linklaters are always keen to look towards the future and are passionate about innovation. The firm has a number of Legal Tech teams, who evaluate internal processes and systems, and deploy some of the most exciting new technologies from the market. Linklaters even have their own in-house start-up, CreateiQ, which is transforming the future of contract management.
Work-life balance is important at Linklaters, with the firm organising a number of social events and clubs. Linklaters has over 18 sports and social clubs, including yoga, netball and an award-winning choir. Groups organise bake-offs, away days and even ski trips, with a dedicated Trainee Social Committee to organise social events for trainees. Finally, to support and empower underrepresented groups, Linklaters has a range of employee-led networks, such as the Gender Equality Network and With Pride and Allies Networks.

Our success is built on working together, and we look for individuals who will collaborate and innovate to deliver the smartest solutions for clients. We recruit candidates from a range of different backgrounds and disciplines, not just law. Why? Because those candidates bring with them a set of unique skills and perspectives that can help to challenge conventional thinking and inspire different approaches to client problems. Over two years, trainees rotate through four seats (placements) in different practice areas, with most of our trainees going on international or client secondments. To develop our exceptional talent, we are committed to providing world-class training and practical experience alongside support, mentorship and coaching.
Attend an insight event, join a diversity and access programme, participate in a Vacation Scheme or start as a Trainee Solicitor, and you will find Linklaters offers outstanding, career-long opportunities.
